Carolina silverbell
Description: Carolina silverbell, or little silverbell, is a species of flowering plant in the family Styracaceae, native to the southeastern United States. Carolina silverbell is a fast growing deciduous shrub or tree up to 8m high, bearing masses of pendent, bell shaped flowers which appear in spring before leaves. The flowers are followed by green, four-winged fruit. The leaves turn yellow in autumn. Locations in Campus: Pictures taken next to Washington Road.
